ESA Cats and Kittens

Here at HealingHearts Cattery, we pride ourselves in the temperament and good behavior of our cats and kittens. We work hard in their first weeks with us here to prepare them for their future families. We introduce our kittens to a plethora of different sounds, touches, and environments. They spend time with children, people with mental and physical disabilities, dogs, and other cats. We believe that this foundation accompanied with lifelong training and respect for the cat, can produce the perfect emotional support pet for many families.

Each kitten that is being placed as  an ESA or Therapy cat is carefully evaluated to determine if the kitten is up to the job. Our lines are from exclusive European therapy cat lines, but that does not ensure that all kittens will be up to specific stims or behaviors of some family members. We will request a change in your choice of kitten if we feel your first choice is not suited for your situation. We believe the proper placement of the kitten is the most important part of a successful match.

If adopting one of our cats or kittens as a therapy pet, please note that they need continuous training and socialization in their new homes to maintain their therapeutic abilities. Their boundaries should always be respected, and they should never be forced to accommodate or be expected to withstand mistreatment. As much as our cattery works to cater to the neurodivergent and disabled communities, please understand that not all situations and behaviors are tolerable for every kitten, and it is impossible to know how a a kitten’s tolerance level will develop as they grow.
